DTLA Collection Swatches (Fall 2021)

 

Angels Flight to Starry Nights

By far, this is my favorite shade of the entire DTLA collection because it is so different than any polish I have from OPI.  This is a gorgeous powder blue cream shade that has a ton of compact silver micro glitters and linear holographic glitters suspended within.  In normal light, this just looks like a gorgeous glitter polish, but in the sunlight, it shines with rainbow holographic shimmers.  This is also a great formula because it's easy to remove and doesn't have the chunkier glitters to make taking off the polish difficult.

My Studio's on Spring

This next shade in the DTLA collection is this gorgeous and creamy teal polish.  This is highly pigmented and goes on perfectly in just two coats.

Violet Visionary

This collection is filled with gorgeous purple shades (which is why it's my favorite in recent years) and this is just my perfect purple.  This is a creamy medium bright purple.  Perfect in two coats.

OPI <3 DTLA

This next purple shade is a beautiful dusty gray lavender cream.  This reminds me of rainy days in the best way possible.  This goes on nicely in just two coats.

Isn't It Grand Avenue

Next up in the DTLA collection is this very creamy and slightly dusty navy shade.  This is a pretty unique navy in my opinion because in person, there is a bit of gray to it, similar to that of  Nice Set of Pipes from the Scotland Collection.  Kind of a one coater, but perfect coverage in two thinner coats.

Art Walk in Suzi's Shoes

This one, I'm not as impressed with for a couple of reasons.  On the nails, it's a beautiful bright cherry red with a bit of an orange hue.  It's more of a crelly polish, which I'm not a huge fan of and don't find myself reaching for, so you'll see any nail scuffs or tips through the polish.  The worst part for me was the staining.  No joke, I had this nail polish on for no more than a couple of minutes and my nails were RED.  Had to quit swatching after that.  You can definitely find other bright red polishes that will give you this effect but not stain your nails:  Emmy, have you seen Oscar? (Hollywood), 5 Apples Tall (Hello Kitty OG), Red Lights Ahead... Where? (Holland)

7th & Flower

I absolutely love a good jewel toned berry shade and this is no exception.  This is a gorgeous magenta cream polish that is perfect in just two coats.  I will definitely be reaching for this one soon!

Espresso Your Inner Self

At first when I swatched this, I put it up against Cliffside Karaoke from the Malibu Collection and they looked incredibly alike, to the point where I was a bit annoyed.  Malibu just came out and they created ANOTHER brown in the same shade?  But when I swatched it again, you can see, it's definitely more of a dusty milk chocolate cream v. solid milk chocolate.  So I'll give them a little more credit.. 

Graffiti Sweetie

Why yes, I will be wearing this color no less than 4 separate times this season...and next season.  This is a GORGEOUS dusty pastel purple/lavender cream shade.  When I put this on my nails, I truly didn't want to take it off.  This is a dream color right up there with Kanpai OPI from the Tokyo collection (my go to purple).  

Abstract After Dark

Next up in the DTLA collection is this absolutely stunning dark navy, almost black, shimmer shade.  It has iridescent blue shimmers suspended within giving it a multi-dimensional look.  I texted this to my bestie because it reminds me of her, and she said "Ooooh! It's space in a bottle!" and I concur.

(P)ink on Canvas

The penultimate shade in the DTLA collection is this dusty rose/mauve cream polish.  I'm positive there are too many that are similar to this polish in other collections, so this one might be a skipper.  I am obsessed with this shade of pink lately (don't know why) so I'm very happy to have this in my collection.

Metallic Composition

Lastly, we have this rose gold/bronzy metallic polish.  This goes on nicely in just two coats and I was honestly surprised by how much I liked it.  I say that a lot don't I?  This is a thinner formula, like most metallic polishes, but I didn't have an issue with it being TOO thin, if you catch my drift.
